LEGAL ASSISTANT/PARALEGAL

Jellum Law P.A., a banking and financial services law firm seeks a highly motivated legal assistant or paralegal to be a key member of our transaction team, working with SBA, and USDA lending transactions. The candidate will work closely with loan and credit departments, and attorneys. Qualified candidates will have prior experience working with financial institutions in preparation of loan documentation, and/or review of due diligence including title, entity documents and UCC and other lien services.

The ideal candidate will be efficient, highly organized and possess strong verbal communication and writing skills. Any experience with SBA loan documentation is a plus. Paralegal degree is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities include creating and completing SBA loan packages, including:

  1. Creating and maintaining loan files;
  2. Creating initial Loan Closing Checklists;
  3. Collecting appropriate due diligence documents;
  4. Preparation of loan documents;
  5. Conduct due diligence searches;
  6. Coordinate mortgage recording and filing of UCC Financing Statements;
  7. Maintain working knowledge of all internal procedures and processes;
  8. Clerical duties including preparing letters, scanning and mailing packages; and
  9. Post-Closing file management.
