LOAN REVIEW SPECIALIST
Jellum Law, P.A., a banking and financial services law firm serving clients nationally, seeks a full-time highly motivated Loan Review Specialist. The Loan Review Specialist will focus on commercial lending, including compliance review of U.S. Small Business Administration (“SBA”) loans.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for compliance reviews of SBA loans with quality control processes. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial lending best practices, including SBA Standard Operating Procedures and related policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze SBA 7(a) loan files, for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with SBA requirements.
- Identify and report discrepancies, inconsistencies, and potential risks in loan documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SBA loan programs and commercial lending best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports and summaries of loan review findings.
- Assist in the development and implementation of loan review policies and procedures and systems.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in SBA or commercial lending, loan review, banking, or a related field, with specific experience in SBA lending preferred.
- Understanding credit processes, such as loan origination and underwriting; SBA credit policies and processes; and loan portfolio management.
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations, SBA loan programs, and loan documentation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

LEGAL ASSISTANT/PARALEGAL
Jellum Law P.A., a banking and financial services law firm seeks a highly motivated legal assistant or paralegal to be a key member of our transaction team, working with SBA, and USDA lending transactions. The candidate will work closely with loan and credit departments, and attorneys. Qualified candidates will have prior experience working with financial institutions in preparation of loan documentation, and/or review of due diligence including title, entity documents and UCC and other lien services.
The ideal candidate will be efficient, highly organized and possess strong verbal communication and writing skills. Any experience with SBA loan documentation is a plus. Paralegal degree is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities include creating and completing SBA loan packages, including:
- Creating and maintaining loan files;
- Creating initial Loan Closing Checklists;
- Collecting appropriate due diligence documents;
- Preparation of loan documents;
- Conduct due diligence searches;
- Coordinate mortgage recording and filing of UCC Financing Statements;
- Maintain working knowledge of all internal procedures and processes;
- Clerical duties including preparing letters, scanning and mailing packages; and
- Post-Closing file management.

Our ideal candidate will have a degree from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law, as well as possessing 2-5 years of applicable lending experience, including negotiating loan documentation, review of title work and surveys, review of UCC/lien searches, review of lease and lease related agreements, review of purchase agreements and sale documentation, and experience with other related due diligence items. They should be detail oriented, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to manage a large, multi-faceted and fast paced workload. They will possess the ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as under the guidance of others. SBA lending experience is not required, but it is preferred.
